Give Your Students the Chance to Connect Beyond Borders 🌍💬

Our Virtual International Conversation Tables are back! This popular Businet member initiative offers students a safe, friendly and informal way to practise a foreign language while meeting peers from other countries and cultures.

This popular Businet initiative brings students from different countries together in a relaxed, friendly online setting. It gives them the opportunity to practise a foreign language, build confidence in communicating across cultures and make new international connections – without the pressure of a traditional language class.

It’s not a traditional language class – The format is simple: students join a virtual table with fellow students, with icebreakers and conversation topics provided to get the discussion started. They spend 45 minutes speaking their own language and 45 minutes practising the language they are learning.

This autumn, sessions take place on 14 October and 18 November, from 18:30 to 20:30 CET, via MS Teams. Students can choose between French–Dutch, English–Spanish, English–German or English-only tables.

We encourage you to spread the word among your students and motivate them to take part. It’s a small commitment with a great international return – new skills, new confidence and potentially new friends across the Businet network.

Seats are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested students should contact their home coordinator, International Office, lecturer or programme administrator to register.
